reports of ERFO at Bank Saderat of Iran were published. Also names
of children who had reached the age of 18 were published in this
report.
Excerpts from Report No. 10
Norouz 1373. From the beginning of ERFO
back in July 1990, until now, Feb. 1994, ERFO was able to collect
approximately $200,000.00. ERFO representatives have visited the
children and families periodically. Considering the local environment
and expenses, it was decided to pay slightly higher living expenses
to children of Manjil.
Excerpts from Report No. 9
Norouz 1372. With the help and guidance
of "Behzisti Organization", ERFO chose legal guardian
for 23 families. This move provided the children with the ability
to buy, and collect interest from their certificate of Deposit accounts
until they reach the legal age of 18.
ERFO classified the children in three categories: over 10 years
old, between 5-10 years old, and under 5 years old, and opened savings
accounts for each child with deposits of 1,000,000 Rials, 1,500,000
Rials, and 1,500,000 -2,000,000 Rials respectively. The guardian
families would use the interest from the interest bearing certificate
of deposits to pay for the financial expenses of children. The children
would be able to withdraw the full amount of money in the account
once they reach the legal age of 18.
Excerpts from Report No. 8
In this issue, new events regarding education,
weddings, and self sufficiency of children were reported.
Excerpts from Report No. 7
Three infants were added to ERFO supported
children. Six of the girls were married off. Four boys had reached
the age of 18. Ten children were receiving government help and were
no longer supported by ERFO. There were 156 children supported by
ERFO at this point. The living expenses of 20 families were raised
to keep up with inflation.
Excerpts from Report No. 6
July 31, 1991 - In this first anniversary
report, all the steps taken to identify, select, and support the
171 children and 2 grand mothers were outlined. Also discussed in
this report were issues of: children's financial expenses, medical
care, marrying off the girls, change of guardians who were not doing
a good job taking care of the children.
Excerpts from Report No. 5
February 1991 - ERFO would open a certificate
of deposit account for each of 176 children under its support. They
will each receive a monthly stipend until they reach the age of
18. It was also decided that ERFO would pay for a child's college
education if he/she decided to go to college. If a girl wants to
get married, ERFO will pay a dowry. ERFO will help guardian families
in their trade to care for the child / children in their custody.
