Fund Raising for Building Homes for Orphans
and Homeless
Children in Kashan, Iran
Dear friend,
With the recent OFAC decision (Please
see 1) allowing to legally raise and transfer
up to $500,000 every 12 months to Iran for humanitarian causes, we invite you
to join us for a dinner on Friday February 21, from 6-8 pm at the Iranian Association
of Boston in Watertown (17 Nichols Ave., Watertown, MA 02472) for the followings:
A non-governmental organization (NGO) in Kashan, Iran called Negin-e Khayyerin
Kashan, has been caring for abused, homeless, socially orphaned and orphan
boys and girls and street-children during the last 11 years: http://www.neginhome.net,
you can see the managing board here.
After age 18, boys and girls are legally released from the Negin's care, but
Negin continue to support them by finding them jobs and/or supporting their
university education. However, girls stay with them till they finish their
education or get married regardless of their age.
"
We realize that our job is not complete at age 18 and these young adults
need as much, if not more support to build their life." At this stage,
in addition to job and education, the main support they need is settling
them in secure, independent and acceptable dwelling.
"
We have been fortunate to get a donation of 570 square meters of prime land
in Kashan (2), valued at 750 million Tomans or $250,000 in today exchange
rate, and a permit to build two 5-story buildings with total of 20 apartments
(3 & 4). "
The city of Kashan municipality has waived 304 million Tomans/ $106,000 building
permit fees (5). In addition, engineers have donated their times for planning
and supervising the construction process (4).
The only condition that the land donor has attached to the land transfer
contract is to start building within 12 months of transfer and finish it
within 3 years (6).
Therefore, time is of the essence here.
On Friday Feb 22, we will familiarize you with the Negin charity organization,
the children homes, lives, activities and achievements.
We hope that you or someone you know will be able to make a tax-deductible
contribution through ERFO, www.ERFO.org, a 501(c)(3) charity NGO (IRS tax
ID 22-307-2053) established in Boston in 1990.
We are looking forward to seeing you. Please confirm your attendance by simply
responding to this email and including the number of attendees.
If you are not able to attend, you may send your contributions to ERFO, 490
